Proximity and keen contact to the local communities have always been one of the most important factors for our successful business worldwide.
Our consultations with the community in the municipal building of Durdeb have started shortly after acquiring the concession agreement with the Government of Sudan. In January 2019, after a comprehensive discussion and pinpointing of the territory belonging to the community on ground, consultation with Durdeb authorities and tribe member has taken place in the building of the municipal authorities of Durdeb where around 12-14 tribe member including the tribe leaders were present. The meeting lasted around 4 hours, where many aspects of our mutually beneficial coexistence on the same land were discussed. We presented our company and our project details (Exploration and intended production method) and corporate social responsibility programs, which will contribute to the social and economic development of the community. We also highlighted our willingness to involve the community members during the whole lifecycle of our mining project.
As a conclusion to the successful negotiations, the notes of the consultation about our first financial contribution, social economic programs, responsibilities and obligation of our company and the local community during the exploration phase were declared in a contract.
Based on the contract, we received the official document by the Durdeb authorities stating that the territory is conflict-free and the community has no objection to our Mining project.
